The Local Goat Distillery and Mixology Bar is a new place to visit here in Granbury! This is a destination where you can learn about the process of handcrafted spirits—and actually see the impressive machinery that makes it happen! Next, you can taste the spirits at the bar. The whole experience feels sophisticated yet never pretentious. Located at 607 N Houston St, Granbury, TX 76048, it is less than a mile from our Granbury, TX bed and breakfast and is guaranteed to be a wonderful experience.

This attractive and comfortable space is open seven days a week, offering up creative craft rum and vodka cocktails. The owners, Roger and Jessica, use a socially responsible process in their handcrafted spirits. At the bar, every one of the mixers is made in house, as well.

Our Experience at The Local Goat

When we stopped in, we enjoyed the Bloody Mary, with homemade barbecue sauce and vegetable garnish infused with vodka. It was absolutely unique and delicious. We were impressed with the knowledge of the mixologist. The bar offers several flaming drink options that are fun to watch, and taste great. You can tell the mixologist what you are in the mood for, and they will help you find the right drink. In the evening, candlelight makes this spot feel like a special hideaway.

The distillery is visible from the bar. It is a fascinating piece of equipment, and Roger does a wonderful job of explaining how it all works. You can purchase a bottle to take home with you. The owners own several goats, which is how the Local Goat earned its name. In fact, the vodka bottle has a photo of one of their own goats on the label! You can go out back to meet the mascots during your visit.

During nice weather, there is a large patio that lets you enjoy spectacular Texas afternoons and evenings. Food options are coming soon! This summer, the owners also plan to have live music on the patio, and offer some outdoor events on their grounds. Make a stop at Local Goat during your next getaway to Granbury!
