10 Tips For Planning the Perfect Elopement
Congratulations on your engagement! Now it is time to start planning for the perfect elopement. Here at the Inn on Lake Granbury, we like to think of ourselves as your own personal wedding planner when it comes to the big day. With that being said, we put together a specially curated list of our most common 10 tips for planning the perfect elopement.
Tip #1
Plan for a full-day elopement. While elopements are smaller and more intimate, they still deserve to be celebrated and enjoyed like you would a traditional wedding. Preferably, find somewhere you can stay the night before and the night after.
Tip #2
Secondly, choose the location that matches the vision you have for it. Dream elopements can be built and shaped to your unique liking. Choosing a stunning venue location makes it that much easier to build the rest of your wedding.
Tip #3
Save the date! Make sure to book in advance and allow yourself a few days to really get lost in the romance. Plus, saving the date means that you can start telling people to put it on the calendar!
Tip #4
Capture the moment. While elopements can be simple and sweet, they are moments that you will want to last a lifetime. Finding a photographer that fits your unique style is incredibly important, and you want to make sure you get in their books early. Don’t be afraid to ask us for some local photography recommendations!
Tip #5
Additionally, make sure you have someone to help along the way. Elopements are meant to be relaxing, intimate, and stress-free. Our staff at Lake Granbury is here to take care of all of the details and more.
Tip #6
Indulge in food and drink for your special day. Even if it is not much, make a plan for what you are going to eat on that day. Food is a type of love language (in our opinion), and good food always makes for a memorable celebration. Our chefs prepare a menu that is full of hand-crafted delicacies.
Tip #7
No matter how small, remember the flowers. Bouquets and boutonnieres are elegant and simple and really make your pictures pop.
Tip #8
Most importantly, remember the little details. Things like making sure to hire a minister, cut into a wedding cake, toast to your marriage, and more often get pushed aside in elopement ceremonies. We recommend paying attention to the little things – you won’t regret it.
Tip #9
Plan your honeymoon! If you are looking to keep your honeymoon like your elopement, relaxing and renewing, opt to stay at the Inn or site of the ceremony to really take in and savor that special place for a few more days. Plus, there are so many things to see and do around most venues!
Tip #10
Finally, remember to enjoy the day! Elopements are intimate, sweet, and made just for the two of you. Focus on that, and the rest will fall into place.
