Granbury Theatre Presents Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings

The Granbury Theatre Company does it again by bringing this holiday musical to the Granbury stage! Forever Plaid: Plaid
Tidings is a terrific Christmas show that will offer Christmas classics sprinkled with favorites from the original Broadway hit, “Forever Plaid” and now available as a movie: “Forever Plaid.”

The Plaids are a close-harmony quartet modeled after the “guy groups” that were popular in the 1940’s and 50’s. This group of clean-cut fellows practice in their basement to achieve their dreams of becoming like their idols the Four Aces, the Four Lads, the Four Freshman, the Hi-Los, and the Crew-Cuts. On their way to pick up their plaid tuxedos, they are hit by a Catholic school bus on its way to see the Beatles first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. All the Plaids were killed instantly but allowed to return to earth for one last chance at musical glory. In the sequel, the four men of Plaid Tidings return to earth again. At first, they are unsure of the purpose of their return, until the heavenly Rosemary Clooney calls! Tis the season to put a little harmony back into a harsh, discordant world.

This holiday musical will open on November 29^th, 2012, and runs through December 22, 2012. Shows play on Thursday through Saturday, including Saturday matinees.
