Sledge Distillery’s history begins with owner Mark’s father, John Walter (Dub) Sledge. John grew up in Hood County on Fall Creek. He and his brothers would get together on the creek to make moonshine, which he later perfected during WWII. Mark discovered his dad’s moonshine recipe in an old war chest. Then, he bought a still, and recreated the family legacy. Today, Mark and a crew of old friends craft spirits on a family ranch using their own grain, which they also grind and cook.
